Exploratory Work to Understand the Potentials and Limits of LiDAR Points Cloud Data

  • I made this poster for VT's HPC day event. My part was to process LiDAR data of a city (Blacksburg, VA) with satellite image and to display it in immersive CAVE system using LidarViewer/Vrui.

DataCardinal

  • DataCardinal is a professional-level, industry-standard network speed testing tool developed by the Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT) at Virginia Tech. Google Play Store
  • I was a lead developer of the mobile apps as well as a desktop and the backend part for the Web version of DataCardinal at CGIT.

GeoViz at Center for Geospatial Information Technology

  • Working on development of geospatial data processing workflow
    : LiDAR/LAS data processing using LASTools and Python programming, GeoTiff image processing using GDAL and Python programming, Other geospatial data processing using ArcGIS
  • Generation of Geospatial data of different areas of interest for different projects: detection of RF coverage area, location verification of vertical assets (towers, water tanks)
  • Working on developing an effective workflow for Geocoders (address to lat/lon geo-coordinate system)
  • Working on Web 3D Service and Points cloud immersive vaisualization
    : Java programming, Python programming, SQL programming in relational database PostgreSQL/PostGIS, PHP/Javascript/CSS/jQuery/X3DOM/X3D, LASTools and LidarViewer
